What BaridiMob does
BaridiMob is the financial services app of Algérie Poste, a public industrial and commercial establishment (EPIC) under the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. Algérie Poste was created by decree 02/43 of 14 January 2002. The app is for holders of a CCP (postal current) account and an Edahabia card. It showed more than 10 million downloads on Google Play on 3 November 2026. According to the Finance Minister, nearly 18 million Edahabia cards were in circulation at the end of March 2026.
Services
- Real-time CCP balance and a mini-statement of the last 10 card transactions.
- Transfers to other CCP accounts that hold an Edahabia card; the official FAQ says the beneficiary can withdraw the money the same day.
- Phone top-up and payment of gas, electricity, internet and phone bills.
- Blocking and unblocking the Edahabia card.
- Mobile payments to merchants via BaridiPay QR codes, officially launched as "Baridi Pay" on 14 June 2025, plus zakat payment by QR code under an agreement signed on 3 December 2025.
How to use it
Sign-up requires a mobile number already registered with Algérie Poste, the Edahabia card number and expiry date, and a code received by SMS. Each BaridiPay payment is confirmed by an SMS code. Merchants need a commercial CCP account and an active mobile number. Their QR code either carries a fixed amount or lets the customer enter the sum. The rollout started with pharmacies and small local shops. See our BaridiMob merchant guide for details.
