What EMS Champion Post Algérie does

EMS Champion Post Algeria SPA is the express mail and parcel shipping subsidiary of Algérie Poste, which owns 100% of it. According to Algerie360, it was created in May 2011. The company describes itself as a permanent member of the EMS Cooperative of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). In August 2025, a posts ministry statement relayed by APS said the UPU ranked it 14th out of 177 operators and first in North Africa.

Services

For online sellers, the "Offer Web Merchants" page lists home delivery, relay-point delivery, proof of delivery and online tracking. Cash on delivery is paid in cash or with an Edahabia card on a payment terminal. Contracted customers get collection at their address, while the general public drops off at EMS agencies or Algérie Poste counters. The MyEMS platform lets users prepare shipments online before dropping them off. SmartBox Champion lockers, pilot-launched on 3 February 2026 in Algiers, Oran, Sétif and Ghardaïa, send the customer an SMS with a unique pickup code. Internationally, the company says it serves more than 175 countries.

Coverage and how it works

Published network figures differ: 89 operational agencies according to EMS (June 2026), and 92 specialised agencies plus 300 Algérie Poste counters according to Algérie Eco (February 2026). The company's own coverage claims range from 43 wilayas (web-merchant page) to 69 wilayas (a February 2026 news post). The terms of sale target an average of 1 to 7 working days within Algeria and cap parcels at 30 kg, 150 cm combined dimensions and 120 cm on the longest side. Undelivered parcels are held 15 calendar days at the agency before return to the sender.

Things to watch

  • No domestic price list is published on ems.dz (read 3 November 2026), only an estimate tool. The 290 DA "Istilam" price reported in 2022 is not a current tariff.
  • The terms (read 3 November 2026) set a 1,000 DZD (tax included) administrative fee when a professional client's declared weight is wrong.
  • We found no published COD remittance timing or fees, and no public API or store plug-in.
  • According to the FAQ, EMS does not deliver orders placed on foreign online shops.
  • The Android app showed 1.9 stars (721 reviews) and a last update on 22 February 2023.
