# Free Shipping API Algeria: DZShip for Yalidine, ZR Express, Ecotrack

> Free shipping API Algeria: DZShip, run by DZBuild, creates, tracks and prices COD parcels with 99 couriers (Yalidine, ZR Express, NOEST, Ecotrack…) with no signup or API key. Endpoints, sandbox, quotas and best practices.

By [Rédaction DZ Ecommerce](https://dzecommerce.com/en/authors/redaction) · Published 2026-11-03 · Updated 2026-11-04

Yes, a **free shipping API for Algeria** exists: **DZShip**, run by the Algerian e-commerce platform DZBuild at [freeship.dzbuild.com](https://freeship.dzbuild.com). It creates cash-on-delivery (COD) parcels, tracks them, quotes delivery fees and lists stop desks (carrier pickup points where the customer collects the parcel) across 99 Algerian couriers, all through one request shape. According to the service's FAQ, read on November 3, 2026, there is no signup, no API key and no per-parcel fee.

Every call carries your own credentials with the courier (Yalidine, ZR Express, NOEST, an Ecotrack courier and so on). The parcel is created on your courier account, which bills you for delivery as today and pays out the cash it collects. DZBuild says the credentials serve that single call and are never stored.

This guide is for developers, agencies and international teams who want to **connect a website to Algerian delivery companies** without writing one connector per courier. Building from abroad, for a client in Algeria or a diaspora brand? DZShip says it is available worldwide under fair-use limits, but each parcel still travels on your account with an Algerian courier. No developer? Skip to the DZBuild store section.

At a glance:

- **Free**: no signup, API key or per-parcel fee; courier delivery charges still apply.
- **Coverage**: 99 couriers, including the Yalidine family, ZR Express, Maystro, NOEST, Zimou, Elogistia and 82 Ecotrack couriers.
- **Features**: parcel creation, tracking with 14 shared statuses, rate quotes, stop desks, and reference data for wilayas (provinces) and communes (municipalities).
- **Testing**: a "sandbox" courier validates requests without creating a parcel.
- **Security**: calls from your server keep your credentials private, fair-use quotas apply per IP, and COD stays with your courier.

## Free shipping API Algeria: what DZShip is

DZBuild announced DZShip in a [blog post dated July 12, 2026](https://dzbuild.com/blog/free-shipping-api-algeria-dzship), describing it as a free, public shipping API for Algeria. The reason the company gives: every Algerian courier has a different API, and most of them are undocumented.

Three points to keep in mind:

- **What is free is API access.** Your courier keeps billing each delivery under your contract.
- **Only part of it is open source.** The courier guides and client libraries are MIT-licensed, and the dataset of 58 wilayas and 1,541 communes (French and Arabic names, JSON and CSV) is public domain (CC0). The hosted service (courier adapters, gateway, infrastructure) remains proprietary to DZBuild: you cannot self-host it.
- **The audience is broad.** According to the site, DZShip is for anyone building for Algeria: a store, a landing page, an ERP or a Google Sheet of orders.

## Supported couriers: Yalidine API, ZR Express API, NOEST API and Ecotrack

GET /v1/couriers returns each courier's key, platform and required credentials. The main ones, from an integration standpoint:

- **Yalidine and its sister networks** (Yalitec, Guepex, Easy & Speed, Economiqua, We Can)
- Credentials: apiId and apiToken, plus the origin wilaya (options.fromWilaya).
- Worth knowing: according to DZBuild, access to the Yalidine API usually requires a verified business account. Yalidine's transport conditions cap COD at 150,000 DZD (Algerian dinars) per parcel. Details in our guide to [Yalidine delivery prices, stop desks and tracking](/en/shipping-logistics/yalidine-delivery-prices-stop-desk-tracking).
- **ZR Express**, on both of its platforms
- Procolis (the legacy API): token and key. No stop-desk list over the API: a desks request returns a 422 NOT\_SUPPORTED error.
- The new zrexpress.app platform: apiKey and tenantId. Use this one if your customers need to pick a named stop desk.
- Worth knowing: ZR Express also caps COD at 150,000 DZD per parcel. See our guide to [ZR Express rates, stop desks and Procolis](/en/shipping-logistics/zr-express-algeria-rates-stop-desk-procolis).
- **Maystro Delivery**
- Supported by DZShip. Stop-desk parcels are routed by commune, with no desk ID.
- **NOEST**
- Credentials: API Token and User GUID, both taken from the merchant dashboard.
- Worth knowing: DZShip's NOEST guide warns that orders created through the API stay drafts until a separate validation step runs. It also notes that NOEST supports, through the API, letting the customer open the parcel before paying, as well as exchanges.
- **Ecotrack couriers** (82 according to DZShip, including DHD, Conexlog, MSM Go, Rocket, World Express and Anderson)
- Credentials: a single token per courier.
- Worth knowing: Ecotrack is software used by delivery companies, not a courier. An unlisted Ecotrack courier can be reached through options.baseUrl, provided its host is a \*.ecotrack.dz address (for example yourname.ecotrack.dz); any other host is rejected with 400 EGRESS\_BLOCKED. Stop-desk parcels are routed by commune. Our [Ecotrack guide](/en/tools/ecotrack-algeria-tracking-couriers) covers Ecotrack API integration in depth.
- **Zimou Express, Elogistia, Colivraison and others** (Ecom Delivery, Near Delivery, MDM)
- Elogistia routes stop-desk parcels by commune. Colivraison, like ZR Express on Procolis, publishes no desk list over the API.

DZShip changes no courier's terms. To choose one, see our [comparison of shipping companies in Algeria](/en/shipping-logistics/shipping-companies-in-algeria-comparison).

## How it works: credentials, endpoints and the sandbox

Every request body has the same structure: **courier** (a key from /v1/couriers), **credentials** (that courier's fields) and the operation data. Switching couriers means changing the first two.

The available endpoints:

- **POST /v1/orders**: create a parcel.
- **POST /v1/track**: current status plus the full event history.
- **POST /v1/rates**: delivery and return fees for a route.
- **POST /v1/desks**: a courier's stop desks in a given wilaya.
- **GET /v1/couriers**, **/v1/wilayas** and **/v1/communes**: reference data.
- **GET /openapi.json** and **/llms.txt**: the full contract, readable by a machine or an AI agent.

The validation rules that trip up most first requests:

- **deliveryType** is either "home" or "stopdesk". For a desk, fetch its ID with /v1/desks and send it in order.stopDeskId.
- **phone** must be an Algerian mobile number (starting 05, 06 or 07).
- **wilayaCode** runs from 1 to 58. Algeria has had 69 wilayas since April 2026, but according to DZShip no courier accepts a code above 58 yet. GET /v1/wilayas?all=1 returns all 69, each with the "shipAs" code to use.
- **communeName** must match the courier's French spelling: take it from /v1/communes, not from memory.
- **codAmount** is an integer in DZD; 0 means a prepaid parcel.

Tracking maps each courier's wording onto 14 shared statuses, with French and Arabic labels: created, pending\_pickup, picked\_up, in\_transit, at\_hub, out\_for\_delivery, delivery\_attempted, delivered, on\_hold, return\_in\_transit, returned, cancelled, lost and unknown. The courier's raw status is kept alongside.

## Example: create, track and price a COD parcel with the sandbox

Here is the minimal flow, based on the [endpoint documentation](https://github.com/DZBuild-com/dzship/blob/main/docs/endpoints.md):

1. **Test without an account.** Send POST /v1/orders with courier "sandbox" and no credentials. In order, include a recipient (full name, phone 0551234567, wilayaCode 16, communeName "Bab Ezzouar"), deliveryType "home", a productList and codAmount 4500. Nothing is created.
2. **Switch to a real courier.** Replace courier with "yalidine", add credentials (apiId, apiToken), options.fromWilaya 16, an address (addressLine) and your own reference, for example "ORD-1042". The response contains the trackingNumber, the status "created" and your reference.
3. **Track.** POST /v1/track with the same courier, the same credentials and the trackingNumber. You get the shared status and the list of events, oldest first.
4. **Quote.** POST /v1/rates with a query: fromWilaya 16, toWilaya 31, toCommune "Oran", deliveryType "home". The query.tier field accepts "express" (the default) or "economic" when the courier offers a slower, cheaper lane.
5. **Offer a stop desk.** POST /v1/desks with the target wilaya. In the sandbox, the response contains a test desk in Oran.

Looking for an **Algerian courier SDK**? DZBuild publishes MIT-licensed clients for Node.js (the npm package "dzship", version 1.2.0 as of November 3, 2026, with zero dependencies and TypeScript types), PHP, Python and Ruby. The repository also has examples for Laravel, WooCommerce, Django, Rails and Google Sheets.

## Fair-use quotas, security and best practices

The fair-use quotas, read on November 3, 2026:

- 200 orders per hour and 1,000 per day, per IP address;
- 10 orders per day for the same recipient phone number;
- 60 tracking calls per minute and 5,000 per day, per IP;
- 60 rate quotes and 60 desk lists per minute, per IP.

Above those limits the API returns HTTP 429: wait the seconds given in the Retry-After header, then retry. Reference endpoints send a Cache-Control header, so cache them rather than polling.

Best practices:

- **Call from your server, not the browser.** DZBuild is explicit: your courier credentials would be readable by any visitor. Always go through your own server.
- **Check before resending a create.** DZShip never retries order creation automatically, because a retried create is a duplicate parcel. Send your own reference and check before resending.
- **Validate your NOEST parcels.** Without it, your parcels stay drafts.

How DZShip works with your courier:

- **COD stays with your courier.** The courier delivers, collects the cash and pays you, minus its fees, on its own schedule.
- **Your rates stay yours**: DZShip uses your own courier account. To confirm orders by phone and cut returns, see our guide to [reducing the COD return rate in Algeria](/en/ecommerce/reduce-cod-return-rate-algeria).

## DZShip or a DZBuild store: which do you need?

Choose **DZShip** if you have a website or ERP and a developer for server-side calls.

If you have neither a website nor a developer, DZShip's own FAQ points you to a DZBuild store, where the same couriers are already built in, along with order confirmation and stock management. Note for English speakers: the store and dashboard work in Arabic and French; English exists only on DZBuild's documentation site.

**Editorial assessment**: DZBuild is our editorial team's top pick for merchants selling in Algeria. Our criteria, all verifiable on its own pages:

- **COD built in** on every store, with storefront and dashboard in Arabic or French;
- **couriers**: more than 102 delivery companies according to the company (Yalidine, ZR Express, NOEST, Maystro, the Ecotrack network and more), with stop-desk lists synced from 14 couriers;
- **prices read on November 3, 2026** on [the pricing page](https://dzbuild.com/pricing): Pro at 1,000 DZD per month, Unlimited at 2,500 DZD, Enterprise from 5,500 DZD; a 3-day Pro trial with no card (the Free plan is closed to new accounts). Subscriptions are paid in DZD by CIB or Edahabia card, by BaridiMob receipt, or by international card in USD;
- **no commission** and no per-order fee, according to DZBuild; Google Sheets export on every plan and a REST API on Enterprise.

**Promo code:** WELCOME15 — 15% off your first payment.

## Next steps

1. List couriers and their credentials with GET /v1/couriers.
2. Test in the sandbox until validation errors reach zero.
3. Connect a real courier from your server, with your own reference.
4. Cache wilayas and communes, and handle 429 responses.

Our [DZShip profile](/en/companies/dzship) gathers the verified facts about the service.

## FAQ

### Is DZShip really free?

Yes for API access: according to its FAQ, read on November 3, 2026, DZShip requires no signup, no API key and no per-parcel fee. Your courier (Yalidine, ZR Express, NOEST and others) still bills you for each delivery under your contract, and you must stay within the per-IP fair-use limits.

### Do I need an API key to use DZShip?

No. Each request carries the courier key and your own credentials with that courier, for example apiId and apiToken for Yalidine or a single token for an Ecotrack courier. The parcel is created on your courier account. DZBuild says these credentials are used for one call and are not stored.

### Which couriers does DZShip support?

DZShip lists 99 couriers: Yalidine and its sister networks (Yalitec, Guepex, Easy & Speed, Economiqua, We Can), ZR Express on Procolis and on its new platform, Maystro, NOEST, Zimou, Colivraison, Ecom Delivery, Elogistia, Near Delivery, MDM and 82 Ecotrack couriers. A sandbox courier is available for testing without creating parcels.

### Does DZShip collect the cash-on-delivery money?

No. DZShip only passes on the amount to collect, as an integer in Algerian dinars (DZD), with 0 for a prepaid parcel. The courier delivers the parcel, collects the cash from the customer and then pays it to you, minus its fees, on its own payout schedule.

### Can I call DZShip from the browser?

No. DZBuild asks you to call the API from a server, because otherwise your courier credentials would be readable by any visitor to the page. The official clients for Node.js, PHP, Python and Ruby are meant for server-side use and handle HTTP 429 responses with the Retry-After header.
