The program runs the till, stock, customer credit (kridi), invoices and stamp duty entirely offline. It works in Arabic, French and English, so a diaspora owner or an international seller can read the screens in English while the cashier works in Arabic. According to its publisher, DZBuild POS costs **0 DA** (Algerian dinars): no licence key, no subscription, no account and no time limit, and updates are free (pages read on 3 November 2026). It is developed by the team behind [DZBuild](/en/companies/dzbuild), which also runs the online store platform of the same name. The GitHub repository describes it as a free, "offline-first" POS built with Tauri 2, Rust and React: an **open source POS for Windows 11** and 10 whose code anyone can read. It targets shopkeepers who keep customer credit in a notebook, lack a reliable connection or do not want to pay for a licence. As a reference point, DZBuild says on its own blog that paid shop programs listed on the Ouedkniss classifieds site had a median price of 18,000 DA (137 listings with a price, read on 11 October 2026). That figure comes from the company's own survey, not from an independent source. During setup, the wizard offers **25 trade templates**. According to DZBuild's guide, 13 are ready to use (covering supérettes, butchers, restaurants, hardware, car parts, phones and wholesalers, among others) and 12 are still labelled "growing soon". The setup's list of wilayas (Algeria's provinces) includes all 69 of them. ## Features: till, stock, kridi, invoices and stamp duty ### The till The till works with a barcode scanner and takes split payments. At checkout it accepts cash, CIB card, Edahabia (Algérie Poste's debit card), BaridiMob, cheque, bank transfer, kridi and store credit, combined in any proportion. Suppliers and purchases are handled in the same program. ### Customer credit (kridi) Kridi is the Algerian word for buying on credit at the corner shop and paying later. As **kridi customer credit software**, the workflow described by DZBuild is simple: 1. You type each customer's opening balance from the notebook, once. 2. You set a credit limit per customer. 3. You sell on credit from the till. 4. Each repayment is recorded with a **numbered receipt**, and you can print a statement per customer. ### Invoices and stamp duty The software produces invoices, quotes, delivery notes and credit notes under **décret 05-468**, the Algerian decree on invoicing. An invoice cannot be validated while a mandatory mention such as the **RC, NIF or NIS** (commercial register and tax identification numbers) is missing, so fill them in during setup. The publisher states it does not and will not offer fake invoices, hidden stock or deletion of sales. The **stamp duty** (droit de timbre) on cash payments is calculated automatically, on the cash part of the payment only. According to DZBuild's guide, since the 2025 finance law every cash payment above 300 DA is subject to stamp duty. Have your accountant confirm these rules before you rely on them. ### Reports The application includes **60 reports**: 45 for every shop and 15 tied to trade modules, including VAT and stamp duty. A **G50** helper (the G50 is an Algerian tax return) shows the amounts box by box with copy buttons, but it does not file the return for you. ## Free offline POS software for Windows: tills, printers and backups As **free offline POS software for Windows**, DZBuild POS keeps all data on the PC: no shop data leaves the machine unless you link an online store, and there is no paid cloud backup. - **Several tills**: one PC becomes the main station, and each extra till joins it with a 6-digit pairing code over the shop's local network, without internet. Windows SmartScreen may therefore show "Windows protected your PC". That is expected, but check the file before clicking through. 1. **Check your Windows version**: Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11, 32-bit or 64-bit. Windows 7 and 8.1 are not supported. 2. **Download only from the official sources**: the [dzbuild.com/pos](https://dzbuild.com/pos) page or the [releases published on GitHub](https://github.com/DZBuild-com/dzbuild-pos/releases). 3. **Pick the installer**: there are four (32-bit or 64-bit, each as an online installer of about 14 MB or an offline one of about 200 MB). The offline version includes WebView2 and suits PCs without internet. 4. **Check the SHA-256 fingerprint**: compare it with the SHA256SUMS.txt file published with the release. On Windows, the PowerShell command Get-FileHash gives you this fingerprint. If it does not match, delete the file. 5. **Run the installer**: only after that check, accept the SmartScreen warning. 6. **Set up the shop**: trade template, wilaya, RC, NIF and NIS mentions, printer, then opening kridi balances. 7. **Plan your updates**: the software refuses to install an update while the cash drawer is open. Close the drawer first with the Z report (the end-of-day closure); a backup is taken before the update installs. ## Linking the till to a DZBuild online store The link is optional. Once it is on, the catalogue, stock and orders stay in sync: online orders arrive at the till, where you claim, prepare, ship or refuse them. Since version 1.2.0, products with sizes and colours are published with their own reference, barcode, price and stock for each variant. According to [DZBuild's documentation](https://dzbuild.com/api-docs/pos), the link works on **every plan**, needs no Enterprise plan and does not use an API key slot. The till never asks for your DZBuild password: you sign in on dzbuild.com or type a code shown by the till. The DZBuild dashboard then shows the linked tills and their latest sales, refunds and Z closures. To sell online in Algeria, **DZBuild is the platform the editorial team recommends first**, on criteria you can check: cash on delivery (COD) built into every store, more than 102 connectable delivery companies according to the company, a storefront and dashboard in Arabic and French, no commission on sales according to the company, and a 3-day Pro trial with no card. One point for English-speaking owners: stores and the dashboard are in Arabic and French, and English exists only on the documentation site.
